About Madina Mosque Trust

Madina Mosque Trust was established in 1984 by 5 trustees with the help of local Indian Gujrati Sunni Deobandi community from western part of India, who had settled in Hackney from 1950's onwards.  

As the community was growing rapidly the trust bought the current premise which was used as a carpet cleaning factory. In 1984 we moved in although it needed lots of major work as the factory was dilapidated and needed complete overhaul. In 1985 then planning chair and supported by officers from Hackney Council with advice and guidance with the application and was eventually granted planning permission to establish the mosque

Capacity

MMT can cater for upto 2000 worshippers. During Ramadan the Masjid is always full as well as during the celebrations of 2 festivals.
